American-Brazilian metal band Soulfly is the foreign lead performer in Tammerfest. The band’s front man is the founder and Sepultura’s guitarist-singer Max Cavalera. The band has influences on death and trash metal and Brazilian folk music. Their material consists of aggressive guitar riffs and Cavalera’s unique singing style.
Soulfly’s career started in 1996 and after that the members of the band have changed several times. The orchestra has released six studio albums and they have had many visitors in the albums. The band has also played cover songs from some famous artists, like Nirvana, Deep Purple and Bob Marley. Soulfly’s debut album was released in 1998.
The band has visited for the first time in Finland in 2003 and a couple of years later in Tampere Klubi. Last time Soulfly visited our home country last spring in Helsinki Nosturi. Now Soulfly conquers the stage in Tampere Pakkahuone in Tammerfest on 8th of July. You don’t want to miss it!
