Provinssirock’s programme and atmosphere tempted 52 000 people to join the 31-year-old festival all over again. There were over 80 artists in five different stages that offered enjoyable musical moments from Children of Bodom to Vesa-Matti Loiri. Saturdays’s lead performer was the major metal band Manowar and popular indierock band Placebo performed on Friday. Nick Cave with his band Bad Seeds conquered the stage on Sunday. The weather was really warm and sunny during the festival.
Sunday offered Nick Cave’s charismatic gig to the audience. Adorable Seasick Steve took over the whole audience with his three-string-guitar in the X-Stage. 70 years old musician was awarded recently with MOBO- bust in the series of breaktrough artist.
The Finnish band The Crash said goodbye to his fans in Provinssirock for the last time. Audience was screaming and singing loud when the band played their hit song ”Lauren Caught My Eye”. The atmosphere was quite melancholy, but the audience enjoyed the whole show. The most striking show in Sunday was however Vesa-Matti Loiri’s gig, which was the artist’s first time to perform in the rock festival. The audience was really moved because of the touching performance. Loiri said that his big dream to perform in the rock festival finally came true.
Provinssirock ends the festival in the Rytmikorjaamo on Sunday evening with Wasalandia After Dark and Paula Koivuniemi.
Provinssirock 2010 will be organized on 18th -20th of June 2010.
